A few big Week 4 lines will set trade prices this week, and a few quiet ones will drag prices down. Trade Rx reads this week’s buy-low and sell-high columns from FantasyPros, The Fantasy Footballers, Pro Football Network, USA Today, Fantasy Six Pack, RotoBaller and Roto Street Journal, checks each name against usage and the injury report, and picks five buys and five sells.
Calls are built for half-PPR, with notes where PPR changes the answer. Each player gets a suggested trade price, which is a starting point for an offer, not a rule. Carolina and Kansas City are on bye.
Buy Low
1. Dalton Kincaid, TE, Buffalo Bills
Week 5: at LAR (Monday night) | Price: a bench receiver such as Keon Coleman or Roman Wilson
Symptoms: Kincaid caught 12 of 14 targets for 225 yards and a touchdown in the first two weeks, according to Fantasy Six Pack. Over the last two games he has three catches for 45 yards. Pro Football Network has his Week 4 line at one catch for seven yards on two targets against New England.
Diagnosis: The drop came during two flat games from Josh Allen, and his role looks the same. Joe Brady acknowledged the low target total and said Buffalo needs to get Kincaid more involved, per Pro Football Network. DJ Moore aggravated his shoulder in Week 4, and his status for Monday is unclear, according to The Fantasy Footballers. The warning sign is a 59% snap rate in Week 4, which FantasyPros’ Jim Moorman flagged.
Consensus check: Backed. FantasyPros’ buy-low column, Pro Football Network and Fantasy Six Pack all list him. Moorman lowered him from TE3 to TE5 but says hold.
Prescription: FantasyPros suggests offering Coleman, Roman Wilson or Jakobi Meyers. Coleman is the best piece to move after his 116-yard game, since his value depends on Moore staying out.
2. Michael Wilson, WR, Arizona Cardinals
Week 5: vs. DET | Price: a name-brand WR3 such as Jameson Williams or Rashee Rice
Symptoms: Wilson has one touchdown in four games, and FantasyPros’ expert consensus still ranks him as WR28.
Diagnosis: He has 30 targets over the last two weeks, according to Pro Football Network, with 11 catches for 89 yards and a score in Week 3 and seven for 95 on 13 targets in Week 4. FantasyPros calls him the clear No. 2 option behind Trey McBride. Detroit allows a league-worst 31.7 points per game and 299.3 passing yards per game, which is why we named him in this week’s Defensive Diagnosis.
Consensus check: Near-unanimous. FantasyPros, Pro Football Network and The Fantasy Footballers all list him, though the last two call it a buy-high.
Prescription: Buy before Sunday’s 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff. One big game against the Lions closes the gap between his usage and his ranking. He gains more in PPR.
3. Parker Washington, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars
Week 5: vs. PHI (London, 9:30 a.m. ET) | Price: a WR3 coming off a touchdown game, such as Romeo Doubs
Symptoms: Washington caught one pass for seven yards on three targets against Cincinnati, according to Draft Sharks.
Diagnosis: Trevor Lawrence threw only 23 passes, and Washington lost a 39-yard catch on replay when he stepped out of bounds. He entered Week 4 as WR10 in PPR, per Draft Sharks. Fantasy Six Pack calls him the clear No. 1 receiver in Jacksonville.
Consensus check: Backed. FantasyPros, RotoBaller and Fantasy Six Pack list him as a buy, and Moorman says hold.
Prescription: USA Today lists Doubs as a sell after his two-touchdown game, so he makes a fair swap. The London game kicks off at 6:30 a.m. Pacific on Sunday, so finish the deal Saturday.
4. George Pickens, WR, Dallas Cowboys
Week 5: vs. TB (tonight, 5:15 p.m. PT) | Price: Quinshon Judkins plus a bench piece
Symptoms: Dak Prescott threw 45 passes against Houston and Pickens saw three of them, according to CBS Sports, finishing with two catches for 75 yards. CeeDee Lamb caught 17 passes for 189 yards in the same game.
Diagnosis: One FantasyPros contributor has Pickens at 7.0 targets per game and a 20% target share, with 10.1 PPR points per game against 12.8 expected. Tampa Bay has ruled out safety Antoine Winfield Jr. and cornerback Benjamin Morrison for tonight, per the team’s injury report.
Consensus check: Backed. FantasyPros’ buy-low column and Fantasy Six Pack both list him. Moorman says hold and not to sell low.
Prescription: This deal has to be done before 5:15 p.m. Pacific. FantasyPros’ suggested swap also moves Judkins, one of our sells.
5. Jordan Love, QB, Green Bay Packers
Week 5: vs. CHI | Price: in superflex, a QB coming off a spike week, such as Kirk Cousins
Symptoms: Love threw for 197 yards in a 17-14 win over Tampa Bay, according to Pro Football Network, and he has not had a three-touchdown game.
Diagnosis: He has thrown exactly two touchdowns in all four games, per Pro Football Network. FantasyPros has him second in pass attempts per game (41) and third in passing yards per game (281). FantasyPros lists the Bears, Cowboys and Lions as the next three opponents, and Dallas and Detroit both made this week’s Defensive Diagnosis.
Consensus check: Backed by FantasyPros’ early-week trade column and Pro Football Network.
Prescription: In one-QB leagues, check waivers first. In superflex, USA Today lists Cousins as a sell because Fernando Mendoza could take his job, so offer Cousins for Love.
Sell High
1. Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Carolina Panthers
Week 5: bye | Target return: a tier-up receiver such as Malik Nabers
Symptoms: McMillan caught 14 of 16 targets for 192 yards and two touchdowns against Detroit. Draft Sharks scored it at 44.2 PPR points, the best receiver week this season.
Diagnosis: We listed him as a buy last week, when FantasyPros had him 16.3 points below his expected total. The touchdowns came, and his price has changed. Before that game he averaged 9.8 PPR points, per Draft Sharks. Jalen Coker missed the game, and USA Today says his injury looks minor and expects a harder schedule after Carolina’s bye.
Consensus check: Widely backed. FantasyPros, USA Today and Fantasy Six Pack all say sell. RotoBaller lists him as a buy.
Prescription: If you bought him last week, take the profit. One FantasyPros contributor suggests trading up to Nabers or Justin Jefferson.
2. Emanuel Wilson, RB, Seattle Seahawks
Week 5: vs. SF | Target return: a steady WR2 such as Stefon Diggs
Symptoms: In his first start with Jadarian Price on injured reserve, Wilson ran 21 times for 81 yards and a touchdown and added three catches for 39 yards and another score, according to The Fantasy Footballers.
Diagnosis: We ranked him first in Tuesday’s Free Agent Triage, and he is still the right waiver add. Zach Charbonnet will not be activated for Sunday, but he is getting team reps in practice this week, per The Fantasy Footballers.
Consensus check: Backed by FantasyPros and USA Today.
Prescription: FantasyPros’ Pat Fitzmaurice suggests Wilson for Diggs, who has at least six targets and four catches in every game.
3. Javonte Williams, RB, Dallas Cowboys
Week 5: vs. TB (tonight, 5:15 p.m. PT) | Target return: Chase Brown
Symptoms: Williams scored three rushing touchdowns in a 34-30 win over Houston.
Diagnosis: He ran 19 times for 62 yards, according to CBS Sports, which is 3.3 yards per carry, and added five catches for 21 yards. Dallas is favored by 9.5 to 10 points tonight, per this week’s Defensive Diagnosis, so another short score is possible. That is the risk of selling now.
Consensus check: Thin. FantasyPros is the only column we read that lists him.
Prescription: FantasyPros suggests Williams for Chase Brown, whom we still like. The deal has to close before 5:15 p.m. Pacific.
4. Quinshon Judkins, RB, Cleveland Browns
Week 5: at NYJ | Target return: a top-15 receiver such as Garrett Wilson
Symptoms: Judkins scored 18.6 half-PPR points in Week 4, according to FantasyPros, with his first touchdown and six catches.
Diagnosis: He averages 3.0 yards per carry and has not topped 70 rushing yards in a game, per FantasyPros. Fantasy Six Pack has his Week 4 line at 53 rushing yards plus six catches for 43 yards and calls the reliance on receptions a warning sign.
Consensus check: Split. FantasyPros’ buy-low column and Fantasy Six Pack say sell. Moorman ranks him RB18 and calls him a buy.
Prescription: We side with selling. Use him as the main piece in a Pickens deal.
5. Kyle Monangai, RB, Chicago Bears
Week 5: at GB | Target return: RJ Harvey or a similar bench back
Symptoms: Monangai ran 30 times for 146 yards and two touchdowns against the Jets after D’Andre Swift fumbled in the third quarter, according to Draft Sharks.
Diagnosis: Ben Johnson denied benching Swift, per NBC Sports, and Draft Sharks expects the usual split to return. Fantasy Six Pack notes Swift played 64.1% of the snaps and took 14 of the 20 running back carries in the red zone before Week 4. Monangai also has a thumb injury that Johnson called day-to-day, and Tyson Bagent starts for the injured Caleb Williams.
Consensus check: Backed by FantasyPros and Fantasy Six Pack.
Prescription: Moorman suggests shopping him for Harvey. Sell before the snap counts show the split.
Where the Doctor Disagrees
Chase Brown, RB, Bengals: Moorman says sell, citing 3.6 yards per carry and no breakaway runs. We bought him last week and are holding. He ranks top-10 in snap share and routes run, per FantasyPros’ early trade column, and caught 11 passes in Week 4 with Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins hurt.
Tyler Warren, TE, Colts: The Fantasy Footballers say sell, pointing to 5.65 yards per catch. FantasyPros counters with a 93% snap share and a 22% target share, and Alec Pierce has no timetable to return. At TE7, he is not worth selling. Hold him.
Bucky Irving, RB, Buccaneers: The Fantasy Footballers and Moorman both say sell, and we said the same last week. Dallas allows 179.7 rushing yards per game, though, so start him tonight and shop him Friday if he produces. If you would rather trade him now, the deal has to close before 5:15 p.m. Pacific.
