Two weeks of ugly box scores have knocked a pair of early-round picks down to trade-bait prices. Drake London and Jeremiyah Love both have problems that look fixable, and their managers are frustrated enough to listen. Below are one receiver and one running back to target, with the case for each, the risk, and how to pitch the trade.

WR: Drake London, Falcons

Symptoms. London has six catches for 80 yards through two games and hasn’t topped seven fantasy points in either one. Cooper Rush was so bad in Week 2’s 34-3 loss to Carolina that Atlanta turned to undrafted rookie Jack Strand in the third quarter. London’s last target of the day came on the first drive of the second half.

Diagnosis. The problem is the quarterback. Michael Penix Jr. starts tonight at Green Bay, with Tua Tagovailoa as his backup. Before London’s PCL injury last season, he averaged nearly 20 fantasy points per game with Penix throwing to him. Atlanta also signed him to a four-year, $141 million extension in June, so he’ll get the targets once the passing game works. After Green Bay, the Falcons face the Saints, Ravens and Bears.

Risk. Penix is turnover-prone and hasn’t taken a snap this season. If he looks rusty tonight, London could stay stuck for another week or two.

Prescription. Send the offer before kickoff tonight. One long Penix-to-London completion on Thursday Night Football and his price starts climbing back toward his draft cost by Friday morning. Look for a manager who’s 0-2 and nervous, and offer a receiver who’s been hot through two weeks but has a lower ceiling.

RB: Jeremiyah Love, Cardinals

Symptoms. The No. 3 overall pick is averaging 10 fantasy points per game, and a Week 1 touchdown accounts for a big chunk of that. He has 20 carries for 70 yards and five catches, and he’s played under half of Arizona’s offensive snaps. Tyler Allgeier has played 59% and 64% of the snaps, out-carried Love 22 to 20, and run more routes, 32 to 23.

Diagnosis. Love missed the rest of the preseason with a high ankle sprain, and he’s still working his way into the offense. Week 2 moved the right way. He played fewer snaps than Allgeier but out-carried him 9 to 5, and he’s drawing more targets than the veteran despite running fewer routes. Allgeier’s snap lead also got a boost from a blowout, because he’s the back Arizona uses on passing downs. A third overall pick with Love’s talent usually wins this kind of timeshare by midseason.

Risk. The takeover could be slow. Arizona plays at San Francisco on Sunday, and Yahoo’s analysts have him around RB24 for the week. Not everyone sees RB1 upside this year, either. Pro Football Network warned he could settle in around 13 points per game.

Prescription. Offer a mid-RB2 price. His manager drafted him in the first round and is watching Allgeier eat into his workload every week. A veteran back with a secure role and a limited ceiling is the right trade chip, because it gives that manager steady points right now.
